🇺🇸USA DAY🇺🇸 Year 5 had a fab day immersing themselves in USA-culture to end their New York topic in Geography. The children took part in The Big, Fat USA Quiz and learnt about Native American history. We had fun creating our own Totem/Crest Poles and then dived into our UK vs USA taste-testing event which ended with a celebratory hot dog with crispy onions, mustard and ketchup. ❤️🤍💙 We finished the day with a cheerleading boot camp and a round of Cornholing! Phew! Thank you to all grown ups who generously donated towards the cost of the food. 🥰

🌟 Even more exciting news for our community! 🌟 After today’s meeting with the council, we’re delighted that a brand-new crossing on St Peter’s Road will be fully funded and completed this financial year. 🚸🎉 The council has also committed to installing a crossing on Manadon Drive once the Manadon roundabout works begin, and they are now exploring adding double yellow lines on Hardy Crescent junction to help keep things safe and traffic flowing smoothly. A huge thank you to all of you for your ongoing support. On Monday, our brand-new WOW Walk to School scheme launches, and children will be able to earn badges to promote safe, active travel. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Here is our winner of the Millionaires’ Club reading incentive. She has read over 750,000 words since September so was entered into a prize draw to choose a new book to keep! She has actually read over 1,000,000 words since September 🤯😍🤓 Amazing reading!! Truly deserved! Thank you once again to our amazing PTFA who make this possible by raising money for our students. 💙💙

Our 3 winners of the reading raffle ticket incentive for the autumn term absolutely loved their trip into Waterstones to choose their own book and enjoy a hot chocolate at Costa. Thank you as always to our PTFA for funding this amazing incentive which really does encourage our children to read 💙🤓

Foundation Stage have been busy being builders this week👷 As part of our D&T the children designed and built a house for The Three Little Pigs! The children had so much fun experimenting with different materials. Great work Turtles and Seahorses ⭐️

🌟 Three of our children visited Eden Park today to take part in the Connect Council. They represented Manadon brilliantly! We’re so proud of them! 🌟

🎶🎄Music Club are performing at the PTFA Kickstart to Christmas event! 🎄🎶 The children are SO excited to show off what they've been rehearsing - we have 5 fantastic vocal pieces and 2 special showcasings from the MVPS Orchestra. 💙 We look forward to seeing you there! 🤩

Year 3 had a fantastic Egyptian Day! Here are a few highlights from today. More photos and videos will be shared next week.

Year 3 have had an awesome Egyptian Day. We decorated the papyrus paper we made earlier in the week and wrote our names using hieroglyphics. Then we tried to escape Egyptian mazes and solve problems. The highlights of the day have to be 'Walking like an Egyptian' and wrapping each other up as mummies!

🌟 We’re Launching the WOW Walk to School Scheme! 🌟 Following all the amazing work we did last year on our Safer Journeys to School project, we’re excited to take the next step toward promoting walking to school. We’ll soon be starting the WOW walk to school challenge, and we’d love everyone to get involved! What children need to do: • Travel to school in an active way at least once a week — walking, scooting, cycling, or “park & stride.” • Teachers will log journeys daily in class. What they’ll earn: Children who meet the goal will receive a collectible WOW badge Why this matters: By choosing active travel whenever possible, we can cut down the number of cars at drop-off, reduce congestion, make the roads around school safer, and build on everything we achieved together last year.
